From schoolhouse to 'suite' home.

What it's like

The Driftwood Inn's journey from a 1914 schoolhouse to a charming hotel in the 1940s is a story of transformation and dedication. As fifth and sixth-generation Alaskans, the owners are committed to preserving the historical essence of the inn while seamlessly incorporating modern amenities. Today, the inn proudly showcases its multifaceted identity, encompassing the rustic elegance of the original historic inn, the contemporary comforts of the lodges, and the cozy charm of the cottages, all of which capture Homer's unique charm.

Independent spirit

Fall for this Homer hideaway—hook, line, and sinker.

However, it's the personal touch—like Owner Adrienne Sweeney's heartfelt efforts in offering tailored services and local activity guidance—that truly makes guests feel at home.

Eat and drink

While The Driftwood Inn itself doesn't boast an in-house restaurant, it proudly stands amidst Homer's vibrant culinary landscape, celebrated as a 'foodie destination.' Just moments away are eateries that showcase the freshest seafood straight from Kachemak Bay, farm-to-table fare, gourmet dining experiences, and an array of casual eats and food trucks.
