What it's like
Forget the formalities of a front desk—friendly staffers greet guests with check-in tablets in a spacious and artful lobby that begs for exploration. And who needs hallways when you have art galleries? On each of the five floors in this 26-room hotel, guests exit their rooms into open art galleries that house rotating collections of local works of art. Inside the rooms, a Scandinavian modernist aesthetic blends a grey, blue, and gold color palette, lush fabrics, sleek midcentury-modern furniture, reclaimed and end-grain woodwork, and custom wallpaper that evokes the waves outside.
